Andrew Sprung

Andrew Sprung is an accomplished clarinetist known for his principal position in the Jackson Symphony Orchestra and as an instructor at Spring Arbor University and Hillsdale College. He's performed extensively in the Midwest, including at Carnegie Hall and European venues. Sprung is a new music advocate, having premiered works and commissioned pieces for bass clarinet and electro-acoustics. He's also an active educator, teaching private lessons, master classes, and sectionals to students in southern Michigan. He has contributed articles to The Clarinet, the journal of the International Clarinet Association, and holds memberships in music honor societies. With a Master of Music from Bowling Green State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Iowa State University, he's currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Michigan State University under the guidance of esteemed clarinetists.
