Arthur Campbell

Arthur Campbell, a globally acclaimed clarinet virtuoso, garners consistent praise from prestigious classical music publications. Nominated with pianist Helen Marlais for the 2013 International Classical Music Awards, Campbell's duo received Germany's Fono Forum "Star of the Month" honor and Stereo Magazine's "CD of the Month." The New York Times acclaimed his eloquence after his Merkin Hall concerto debut in 2010. His recording "Brahms: Clarinet Chamber Music" earned awards and acclaim worldwide. Campbell's classical recordings are exclusively on Germany's Audiophile label Audite. He champions contemporary repertoire and premiered works like Shulamit Ran's "Three Scenes for Solo Clarinet." An esteemed master teacher, he has led master classes globally. He earned his Doctor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Northwestern University under Robert Marcellus. Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with pianist Helen Marlais, Campbell is an Artist Faculty and Professor of Music at Grand Valley State University. He was named the 2013 GVSU Alumni Association Outstanding Educator.
