Dee Stewart

After 18 years in the Philadelphia Orchestra playing trombone, bass trombone, bass trumpet and tenor tuba (euphonium), M. Dee Stewart joined the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University where he served for 36 years. Performing and pedagogy are equally important in the career of M. Dee Stewart, Professor Emeritus and former Brass Department Chair at IU. While in Philadelphia, Stewart taught at The Curtis Institute of Music and Temple University. A passionate teacher, M. Dee Stewart students are carrying his joy of music and life throughout many great bands and orchestras as well as in countless scholarly institutions.
