Felipe Rodríguez Guzmán serves as Principal Trumpet of the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra since 2011. A native from Ponce, Puerto Rico, received degrees in music from the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico and the Mason Gross School of the Arts in Rutgers University, New Jersey.His teachers include Roberto Ramírez, William “Prof” Fielder, and David Krauss. On April 2018, Felipe make his debut as soloist with the PRSO performing the Concertino Classico for Trumpet and Small Orchestra by Jack Délano.He currently teaches trumpet at the Universidad de Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus and the Experiencia Sinfónica program at the OSPR. Felipe is the co-founder and artistic director of the Borinquen Brass, a brass and percussion ensemble with more than a decade of musical activity in the Island of Puerto Rico.
