Justin Rowan

Justin Rowan is the Principal Trumpet of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra. He frequently performs with many groups including the Erie Philharmonic, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, as well as the Richmond, Kalamazoo, Canton, and Akron Symphonies, and many more. He has appeared as a soloist with the Georgia Symphony Orchestra and the Kennesaw State University Symphony Orchestra. Justin received his MM in Trumpet from the Cleveland Institute of Music studying with Michael Sachs and Michael Miller of the Cleveland Orchestra. He received his BM in Music from Kennesaw State University under Tom Hooten, Karin Bliznik, and Jennifer Marotta. Other teachers include Barbara Butler, Charlie Geyer, and Ray Riccomini.Justin coaches the Contemporary Youth Orchestra brass section and runs an active private teaching studio with students frequently placed in local youth ensembles. While not performing or teaching, Justin enjoys running, baseball, coffee, cooking, and progressive metal music.
