Kris Hammond

Kris Hammond is the Acting Assistant Principal/Section Trumpet of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. He served in the U.S. Navy as trumpet instrumentalist assigned to the “7th Fleet Band” in Yokosuka-shi, Kanagawa, Japan and is a former member of Axiom Brass, and is a member of the brass staff of the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps and is the lead trumpet instructor. Kris is a former member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra. He is a graduate of Northwestern University (MM) and Florida State University (BM). His principal teachers include Christopher Moore, Charles Geyer, Barbara Butler and Christopher Martin.
