Ryan Christianson

Ryan Christianson is the Instructor of Trombone at Millikin University and the principal trombonist of the Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra. Prior to his appointment at Millikin, Ryan maintained positions as the principal trombone of the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra (2018-) and with the internationally-touring brass quintet, the Dallas Brass (2015-2022). Equally at home in jazz and commercial settings, Ryan maintains a freelance career that has included performances with such artists as Diplo and Major Lazer and the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, and appearances at festivals that range from the Vans Warped Tour to the Big Sky Classical Music Festival. As a recording artist, Ryan can be heard on numerous recordings of large ensemble jazz, commercial, and creative projects. He currently lives with his wife Sarah, a timpanist, in Chicago, IL.
