Sam Skelton

Sam Skelton has been active on the Atlanta music scene for well over three decades. He graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State with a degree in Jazz Studies. He continued his saxophone studies with Ken Radnofsky at Boston University. Sam has performed with The London Symphony, The Atlanta Symphony, and The Atlanta Ballet. World Premiers include James Oliverio’s "Children of A Common Mother", Lee Johnson’s "Ora Pro Mi” and "Seaside Symphony” recorded with the LSO. As a sideman on over 400 recordings, Sam remains active in the studio and can be heard on recordings with Elton John, Matchbox 20, The Gap Band and The Ohio Players. GRAMMY nods include Howard Tate's "Rediscovered" for Best Contemporary Blues Album and Ted Howe's "Pinnacle" for Best Instrumental Solo. Sam is currently Director of Jazz Studies and Senior Lecturer in Saxophone at Kennesaw State University. Professional associations include JEN, NAFME, NARAS, and AFM.
