Adedeji Ogunfolu
Adedeji Bailes Ogunfolu assumed the role of second horn with the Pacific Symphony in September 2018, marking the beginning of his distinguished tenure with the orchestra.
His relocation to Southern California has not only enriched the orchestra but has also seen him contribute to major studio projects in Los Angeles, such as "Avatar: The Way of Water," the live-action remake of "The Lion King," "Oppenheimer," and "Spider-Man: No Way Home," among other notable works.
Before establishing himself in the dynamic musical landscape of Los Angeles and Orange County, Adedeji Ogunfolu served as the fourth/utility horn of the San Antonio Symphony, a position he secured in 2014. His journey in San Antonio was a significant milestone in his career.
Prior to this, he honed his skills as an OTPAAM fellow with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, a testament to his commitment to musical excellence. His versatility is further evident through performances with esteemed orchestras such as the Detroit Symphony, Flint Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, St. Louis Symphony, and Windsor Symphony.
In April 2018, Adedeji had the opportunity to showcase his musical talents as a guest principal horn with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, leaving a mark in the vibrant local music scene.
Since 2014, he has consistently contributed as a section horn in the Lakes Area Music Festival in Minnesota, demonstrating his dedication to engaging in diverse musical settings.
Adedeji's accomplishments extend to winning the concerto competition at the Colorado College Music Festival, and his excellence in the Solo division of the Northeast Horn Workshop has led to solo performances with both organizations.
In May 2010, he performed Schumann's "Konzerstucke" with the Symphony In C (formerly known as the Haddonfield Symphony), a memorable moment in his musical journey.
Adedeji Bailes Ogunfolu's commitment to musical growth is also reflected in his two fellowships to attend the Tanglewood Music Center.
A native of Washington D.C., Adedeji embarked on his academic journey by starting at the University of Maryland, College Park. He completed his undergraduate degree at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
Furthering his education, he obtained his graduate degree at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, under the guidance of accomplished teachers like Gregory Miller, Jennifer Montone, and Adam Unsworth. His passion for music also led him to study under the mentorship of Bryan Kennedy and Denise Tryon.
Outside the realm of music, Adedeji enjoys hobbies such as physical fitness, and he shares his life with cherished companions, including his dog Kira and his cat Ninja. Additionally, he has a flair for baking, which adds a touch of creativity to his pursuits.
