Aleksey Lobikov
Born inLeningrad, Alexei Lobikov graduated from StPetersburg Musical Lyceum (2004) and from StPetersburg Conservatory (2009) where he also completed his postgraduate studies with Viktor Sumerkin. Has taken part inmaster-classes conducted byChris Houlding, George Wiegel, Jacques Mauger, Ian Bousfield, Jean Raffard and other major trombonists.
From 2006he was leader ofthetrombone section oftheSt Petersburg Cappella Symphony Orchestra. Since that same year he has also taken part inconcert programmes oftheStPetersburg House ofMusic. Since September 2012he has been asoloist with theMariinsky Orchestra where he also performs as member ofchamber groups and oftheMariinsky Wind Ensemble.
Prize-winner attheInternational Mravinsky Competition inStPetersburg (1stprize, 2006), theInternational Rimsky-Korsakov Competition for Wind Instrument inStPetersburg (1stprize, 2008), theLions European Music Competition inTampere (Grand Prix, 2009), thePrague Spring International Music Competition (3rdprize, 2011) and theTchaikovsky International Competition (2019, 1stprize).
