Andrae Murchison
Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia., Andrae Murchison discovered music at his grandparents and mothers church. He began playing drums, trombone, and baritone horn at the age of ten. He later studied music at Oberlin Conservatory of Music and earned an undergraduate degree in Jazz Studies and a graduate degree in Arts from Queens College Aaron Copland School of Music. He resided in New York City and began his professional career as trombonist with The Duke Ellington Orchestra, The Skatalites, Abdullah Ibrahim, Roy Hargrove, Gregory Porter, and many more . Andrae currently resides in Georgia where he stays active composing, arranging, and teaching. In addition to producing original music and leading the Murch Church Brass Choir, he also tours with The Sun Ra Arkestra, Postmodern Jukebox, Monty Alexander, and ReneĢ Marie.
