Bradford Behn
Bradford Behn, a clarinet virtuoso, honed his skills under Robert Marcellus at Northwestern University, earning both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in 1989 and 1990. As Principal Clarinet of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and formerly with the Fort Collins and Tulsa Symphonies, Brad's remarkable career has spanned prestigious positions across orchestras like Boston, Baltimore, Utah, and more. Beyond orchestral achievements, Brad is a dedicated educator. He has taught at institutions such as Oklahoma City University and the University of Northern Colorado, and shared his expertise globally as a guest clinician. Notably, he filled teaching roles at the University of Colorado–Boulder, University of Oklahoma–Norman, and Oklahoma State University during their sabbaticals.
Since 1992, Brad has been a pioneering force in mouthpiece acoustics, renowned for his refacing and customization expertise. In 2003, he expanded his endeavors with Behn Mouthpieces, crafting mouthpieces for players of all levels while maintaining his refacing services. Brad co-operates BEHN, LLC, and co-owns Window Saver Company, LLC, alongside his wife, So Rhee. Residing in Edmond, Oklahoma, Brad's contributions resonate across the realm of clarinet performance and education.
