Bria Skonberg

Bria Skonberg is a multi-award-winning trumpeter, vocalist, composer and educator. Called “the shining hope of hot jazz” by The New York Times, she has performed at hundreds of festivals and stages, from New Orleans Jazz & Heritage, Kobe, Monterey, Breda, Newport, Elkhart and Montreal Jazz Festivals to a soloist with symphony orchestras. She can be heard on over 25 recordings including her 6th studio solo album, Nothing Never Happens. She earned her degree from Capilano University in Vancouver, BC, before moving to NYC in 2010. She is co-founder of the NY Hot Jazz Camp, served as faculty at the Teagarden, Centrum, and Geri Allen Jazz Camps, has programmed educational content for Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Louis Armstrong House Museum, collaborated with Syracuse University, BSU, UNC Greensborough, JAG Columbus and more. She is an active member of the Women in Jazz Organization, Jazz Education Network, Future in Music, and a board member of the International Trumpet Guild.
