Brian Shook

Brian Shook is the Assistant Vice President for Graduate Enrollment at Cedarville University. Prior to his appointment at Cedarville, heserved as a faculty member, department chair, and assistant dean in the College of Fine Arts and Communication at Lamar University. From 2004 to 2009, Shook toured the United States withThe King’s Brass and from 2009 to 2021 he served as principal trumpet of theSymphony of Southeast Texas,where he was a featured soloist on three separate occasions. Shook earned a Bachelor of Arts from Cedarville University where he studied with Charles Pagnard. He continued his studies as a trumpet teaching assistant for David Hickman at Arizona State University, completing both the Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees. Shook is the author of Last Stop, Carnegie Hall: New York Philharmonic Trumpeter William Vacchiano and is also the creator of the popular YouTube channel “Trumpet Master Classes.”
