Chen Jiawei

Chen Jiawei, a highly talented trumpet performer, serves as the associate principal trumpet of the China NCPA Orchestra, Bach artist ,Ultimate Brass artist, and the owner of Loong's Trumpet Studio.

He is now a first-year graduate student at the Central Conservatory of Music（CCOM）. In 2010, he started learning the trumpet under the guidance of Hou Bing, a trumpet player from the Military Band of the Chinese PLA , and since 2012, he has been studying with Professor Dai Zhonghui, a trumpet player, educator, and doctoral advisor at the CCOM.

In 2014, he won first place in the youth solo category at the 39th International Trumpet Guild (ITG) competition held in Philadelphia, USA, and was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music Middle School with the highest professional score.

In 2016, he was awarded the title of International Young Trumpet Artist of the Year by the International Trumpet Guild (ITG).

In January 2019, he successfully held the "Chen Jiawei Trumpet Solo Concert" at the Beijing Concert Hall. In June, he was admitted to the undergraduate program at the CCOM with the highest professional score. During his undergraduate studies, Chen participated in a number of international competitions and won awards.

In October 2022, he was granted a recommendation for admission to the postgraduate at the CCOM. In July 2023, he successfully held a solo concert at the Changsha International Trumpet Festival.

In October 2023, he won the first prize at the 14th Michał Spisak International Music Competition in Poland (second place was not awarded).

In May 2024, he won the championship of the 48th International Trumpet Guild (ITG) Solo Competition, one of the most prestigious trumpet competitions in the world.
