Christopher Moore
Grammy Award winner ProfessorChristopher Moore has been teaching trumpet at Florida State University since 2003. Prior to his appointment at FSU, Dr. Moore taught at the University of Kansas as well as Morningside College, and won a Grammy Award in 2000 as a member of the Chestnut Brass Company for the CD Hornsmoke, featuring the brass chamber music of Peter Schickele. He holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music, the University of New Mexico, and FSU. He has won numerous solo competitions, including top prize at the ITG competition and at state and regional MTNA competitions. Professor Moore has been a finalist at the Ellsworth Smith Competition as well as the MTNA National Finals and has performed and presented clinics at the Midwest Clinic, NTC, and ITG. Dr. Moore can be heard on his solo CD, Trumpeting the Stone, and the Progressive Etudes by Sigmund Hering. Most recently, Dr. Moore published Essential Studies for Trumpet through Carl Fischer Publications.
