Douglas Pipher

With over 30 years of performing and recording in Toronto's music scene, Douglas Pipher is a seasoned musician in jazz, blues, rock, and world music ensembles. His performance journey ignited a fervor for saxophones, driving him to amass a remarkable collection of vintage instruments, particularly early Selmers. As a Selmer Artist and Historian, his fascination evolved into meticulous research, resulting in an exhaustive record of Selmer-Paris saxophone production. Founding the Allsax 4tet, he leads a saxophone quartet featuring an array of instruments, offering diverse tonal palettes and creative avenues. Douglas shares his insights through Selmer history clinics, hosting the Selmer Roadshow, and is pursuing a Masters in Musicology, delving into the Selmer Dorsey Model.
