Glen Gillis
Glen Gillis is Professor of Music at the University of Saskatchewan and remains active as a performer, educator, adjudicator, and conductor. Dr. Gillis is a Conn-Selmer Saxophone Artist/Clinician and has performed in over fifty recitals and conferences in North America, Continental Europe, Iceland, and China. Recently he released SaxSpectrum 3 (2021) through MSR Classics, a sequel to SaxSpectrum 2 (2014) that was nominated in 2015 for Instrumental Recording of the Year from the Western Canadian Music Awards, and SaxSpectrum (2009), premiering many of his commissions and compositions. He co-released DGC Sonic Eclipse (2020) through Hoot/Wisdom Recordings of electro-acoustic experimental music with didgeridooist James Cunningham from Florida Atlantic University. As a scholar, he has contributed articles to many education outlets and has presented research papers and clinics at the Midwest Clinic, WASBE, CBDNA, Texas Music Educators Association, and the British Forum for Ethnomusicology.
