Jamey Aebersold

Jamey Aebersold, born in 1939, is a renowned figure in jazz education and saxophone performance. He holds a Masters Degree in Saxophone from Indiana University and was later awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Music. Aebersold is acclaimed for his extensive series of Play-A-Longs (over 120 volumes), aiding improvisational skills. His innovative concept of practicing with recordings featuring top jazz musicians has revolutionized musicians' practice routines worldwide. He's an internationally recognized saxophonist and a proponent of jazz education. He founded Summer Jazz Workshops, fostering improvisation skills and creative expression. These workshops have spread globally, influencing musical communities. Jamey was featured on CBS' "Sunday Morning" and released a best-selling educational DVD, "Anyone Can Improvise."
