Jerry Embree

Jerry Embree is a professional saxophonist, singer and bandleader in New Orleans. His friendliness and professionalism, combined with his beautiful tone and extremely wide repertoire keep him in demand for gigs year round. Through his company Jazzman Entertainment, Embree books talent for hundreds of events annually, keeping scores of other musicians working too. His varied and fruitful career includes work as a song writer, record producer, radio producer, recording studio manager and music publisher. He studied classical with the renown Professor James Houlik at the The North Carolina School of the Arts, however Embree makes his living playing traditional New Orleans jazz, pop, R&B, zydeco, brass band and standards. Embree is an endorsing artist for Yanagisawa, makers of the finest curved soprano saxophones on planet Earth. Hs work is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Award, the Louisiana Governor’s Awards, and two Grammy Foundation Awards.
