Katherine Kohler, acclaimed clarinetist, recently became 2nd clarinet of the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra. She spent three years as 2nd/E-flat Clarinet with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and has been part of the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra since 2011. In 2015, she participated in the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival under Alan Gilbert, performing notable pieces like Mozart’s Gran Partita and Messiaen’s Des Canyons Aux Étoiles, set for release on Koch Label in 2016. Katherine's chamber music engagements include appearances with Chamber Music Milwaukee and the Roma Trio, showcased on WFMT Radio Chicago. She made her solo debut at sixteen, winning the US Air Force Band Young Artist Competition and performing with them on a national tour in 2009. Hailing from Naperville, Illinois, she began her orchestral journey with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra and Encore Chamber Orchestra. Katherine's clarinet studies commenced with David Boyd and continued under Todd Levy from 2005-13. She graduated from the Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin/Milwaukee.
