Keith Bohm
Dr. Keith Bohm, a California native, holds a DMA in performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, MM from the University of Southern Mississippi, and BM from California State University, Sacramento. Mentored by Timmons, Gwozdz, Kinross White, Raschèr, and Foote, he's a Lecturer of Saxophone at CSU Sacramento since 2001, and an ex-Artist Affiliate of Saxophone at UC Davis (2001-2012). As Artistic Director and Co-Director, he led the Festival of New American Music (2005-2015). Praised for virtuosity, expressive playing, he's a Yanagisawa Performing Artist and ACME Artist. His recitals span major US cities, including a live broadcast at the John F. Kennedy Center. Europe tours feature Paris, Montreux Jazz Festival, and Canada, Italy music fests.
Bohm premiered works by Adler, Begin, Eylar, Lackey, Hoover, Mobberly, Stölzel, Chen Yi. He's a soloist with orchestras like Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay, Merced Symphony, Palo Alto Philharmonic, and more. He's been a principal saxophonist with Modesto Symphony, Camellia Symphony, and others. He recorded Ingrid Stölzel's music for Navona Records. Mu Phi Epsilon member since 1994, he directed the Mu Phi Epsilon Foundation Board (2000-2006, 2012-2014). Winner of the 1998 Mu Phi Epsilon International Competition, he judged the 2011 edition and chaired the 2003, 2007, 2014, 2017 competitions. He advises the Alpha Delta chapter and Sacramento Alumni chapter, and handles scholarships for Mu Phi Epsilon Foundation.
