Logan Chopyk
Dr. Logan Chopyk is a professional trombonist, educator, and performance coach. He served as a trombonist with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra from 2015–2025 and is an adjunct professor of trombone at Point Loma Nazarene University. A prizewinner in numerous solo and chamber music competitions, Dr. Chopyk has appeared as a concerto soloist with orchestras and wind ensembles since the age of 17 and has toured nationally with Presidio Brass.Dr. Chopyk has performed at major summer music festivals including the Grand Teton Music Festival and the Lakes Area Music Festival and previously held principal trombone positions in several regional Midwest orchestras. He has also performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the New World Symphony.He holds degrees from Indiana University (DM), Northwestern University (MM), and UCLA (BA). His primary teachers include Michael Mulcahy, Peter Ellefson, Bill Booth, and Sean Reusch, and he worked closely with master pedagogue and performance coach Jan Kagarice from 2017–2021.An in-demand performance coach, Dr. Chopyk works with brass players at all levels, including professionals and musicians recovering from focal dystonia.
