Logan Chopyk

Dr. Logan Chopyk has been a trombonist with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra since 2015, and is adjunct professor of trombone at Point Loma Nazarene University. A prize-winner of numerous solo and chamber music competitions, Chopyk has been featured as concerto soloist with orchestras and wind ensembles since the age of 17 and has toured nationally with Presidio Brass. He has played at the Grant Teton Music Festival since 2019 and Lakes Area Music Festival since 2022. Chopyk has previously held principal positions in numerous regional Midwest orchestras, and he has played with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and New World Symphony. Chopyk holds degrees from Indiana University (DM), Northwestern University (MM), and UCLA (BA). His primary teachers have been Michael Mulcahy, Peter Ellefson, Bill Booth, and Sean Reusch. He had the honor of working with master pedagogue and coach, Jan Kagarice from 2017-2021. Chopyk is an in-demand performance coach who has worked with top brass players as well as those recovering from Focal Dystonia.
