Philipp Westermann

Philipp Westermann studied tuba with Michael Lind in Stockholm, Sweden, and with Walter Hilgers in Weimar, Germany.

Since 2015 he is the sousaphone player with MEUTE, a brassband from Hamburg, Germany. With MEUTE he recorded five albums and played countless club shows and festivals around the globe. For the band's latest album "Empor"Westermann also worked as a writer and arranger.

With MEUTE he is part of the fourth season of TV Series "Babylon Berlin".

Westermann became patron for the campaign "Instrument of the Year 2024 - the Tuba"for the federal state of Hamburg.

Westermann plays on a Conn 20K Sousaphone.
