Artist
René Henket
René Henket was born on May 23, 1968. He comes from a musical family and started playing the trumpet at the age of 8. His first trumpet teacher was Pierre Wilhelmus.
In 1987 he went to the conservatory in Maastricht where he studied trumpet, music in education and windband conducting. In 1993 he graduated on trumpet with Guido Seegers. Music in education followed in 1994 and HAFA conducting with Jo Conjaerts in 1995.
After his study at the conservatory of Maastricht, René continued his studies at the Musikhochschule Köln with Heinz Meures, where he graduated with a bachelor and master degree in trumpet.
In 1988 René joined André Rieu’s Johann Strauss orchestra. Since then he travels the world with the orchestra and has played in all the major concert halls all over the world.
Through his long experience as a trumpet teacher, Rene has developed a specialization in brass players with embouchure problems. He gains insight into the playing problems through the most modern measuring techniques. He maps these problems out and resolve them. This is often linked to appropriate mouthpiece advice. This is all based on measurable facts.
René collects teaching methods for trumpet and because he travels all over the world this has become an impressive collection. This ties in with his motto, “every student is unique and should be approached as such."
