Theresa Zick

Theresa Zick is a Chicago based clarinetist and performs regularly in and around the city. She was Acting Assistant Principal, Second, and E-flat Clarinet of the Nashville Symphony during the 2021 - 2023 seasons. She has performed with many groups, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Grant Park Festival Orchestra, the Sun Valley Festival Orchestra, and the Hamptons Festival of Music. Theresa has also done recording sessions for companies such as Disney and EA Games.
Her students have been members in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras and the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory.  In 2023, Theresa served as clarinet faculty at the Birch Creek Music Festival. Prior to her time in Nashville, she taught clarinet and general music for The People's Music School and the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Theresa holds a master’s degree from DePaul University and bachelor’s degrees in both clarinet performance and music education from the University of Michigan. Her primary teachers include: Stephen Williamson, Chad Burrow and Dan Gilbert. Theresa plays on Henri Selmer Paris Clarinets and is a Selmer Artist. When not playing the clarinet, Theresa enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time with her husband, Rory, and their cat and dog, Salem and Maggie.
