William Leathers
William Leathers is the principal trumpet of the Nashville Symphony. Originally from Mississauga, ON, he has played with numerous notable ensembles, including the combined orchestras of Juilliard and the Royal Academy at BBC Proms; and at Carnegie Hall, where he played principal trumpet in Mahler's 5th Symphony. As well as performing with the American Brass Quintet, the New York Philharmonic Holiday Brass, the Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass, the Cleveland Orchestra, and The Philadelphia Orchestra, he has played in the Broadway musical 'The Music Man', starring Hugh Jackman. William is a member of the 2022 National Brass Ensemble, which consists of top brass players in the United States. His accolades include a Kovner Fellowship at the Juilliard School, the Fendi Vanguard Award, and the Sylva Gelber Music Foundation Award. He is in the final year of his master's program at Juilliard.
