Retired from the University of Toronto, and now Professor Emeritus. A pioneer of jazz education in Canada, which involved developing the first university jazz degree programs at the undergrad and graduate levels. His ensembles were known to be among the best university bands in North America, travelling to Europe, Mexico and throughout the United States and Canada.
