Celebrate 150 Years of Excellence at the C.G. Conn Invitational

Conn Selmer, the world’s premier manufacturer and distributor of musical instruments, invites the community to celebrate the 150th anniversary of C.G. Conn’s instrument-making legacy with the first-ever C.G. Conn Invitational on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Elkhart High School in Elkhart, IN.

The C.G. Conn Invitational will feature performances from 16 area schools, culminating in an awards ceremony recognizing the outstanding talent and artistry of the participating bands. Elkhart has a long tradition of hosting marching band events, including the Crimson Charger Band Invitational and the Indiana State School Music Association Regional Contest.

"Elkhart High School is excited to host the inaugural C.G. Conn Marching Band Invitational at historic Rice Field. This contest will showcase hundreds of spectacular musicians from throughout Michiana, who have worked hard and will be excited to perform for the audience on Saturday," said Kyle Weirich, Elkhart Community Schools K-12 Music Coordinator."

In addition to the performances, attendees can explore instrument exhibits and engage with the Conn Selmer family of brands, including legendary names such as Conn, Selmer, Bach, Ludwig, and Musser. Proceeds from the event will benefit Elkhart Community Schools, supporting their high school music program.

The C.G. Conn Invitational represents a unique partnership between Conn Selmer, Elkhart Community Schools, and USBands, the nation’s largest scholastic music service provider. An adjudication panel of Conn Selmer artists and nationally recognized judges will evaluate the performances in competitive classifications based on the total number of participating students in each band and school size.
