Mariann Krasznai
Mariann Krasznai, a native of Nyírbátor, Hungary, has been one of the bass trombonists at the Hungarian State Opera since 2013. Her musical journey began at Debrecen University before advancing her education at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, studying under the guidance of Róbert Káip and Prof. Gusztáv Hőna.
Mariann's notable achievements include a Special Prize at the International Brass Competition in Brno, Czechia (2008), a second prize at the Balogh Zilc Brass Competition in Budapest (2011), and recognition at the International Brass and Percussion Competition in Debrecen, where she secured a second prize in 2011 and a first prize in 2012. The Corpus Quartet International Trombone Competition in Budapest also acknowledged her trombone playing with a special prize in 2012.
In addition to her role at the Hungarian State Opera, Mariann is a sought-after guest musician. She regularly appears with the Budapest Festival Orchestra, Syncron Stage Studios in Vienna, and City Light Concerts in Luzern.
Beyond the stage, Mariann finds joy in balancing her musical career with personal interests. An avid cross-country runner, she embraces the outdoors and draws inspiration from nature. In her cherished moments of free time, Mariann enjoys spending quality moments with her daughter, savoring the simplicity of family life.
Mariann's instrument of choice is a Vincent Bach 50AF3 bass trombone, distinguished by its 10.5 bell, serving as a seamless extension of her musical identity.
