Ottaviano Cristofoli
Born in Udine he began studying the trumpet at the age of 10 and graduated from the Conservatory of Udine. While further studying under members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, he performed as the first trumpet with major Italian orchestras including Orchestra Del Teatro Dell'Opera Di Roma, Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice, and Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi. He came to Japan in 2008 and became the principal trumpet at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra (PAC) in Kobe with artistic director Yutaka Sado. In 2009, he became a member of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and currently holds a position as the Solo Trumpet. Since 2016, he has been a member of “Samurai BRASS” which consists of top brass musicians in Japan. He is also passionate about teaching and inspiring younger generations, and in 2019 founded a music academy “Music System Japan Italy/Japan” where he is the Artistic Director
