From an early age, Donny Dyess learned to appreciate all styles of music. This fascination led to a full-time career in music, education and performance. After graduating high school, Donny attended The University of North Texas to focus on music performance. Shortly after arriving, he began playing every chance possible. During his time at UNT, he was an active freelance musician playing with many groups around town, recording/jingles, doing short runs on all major cruise lines, working for Disney, teaching trumpet, etc. Originally from Austin, Donny now lives in the Dallas, TX area where he is a busy freelance performance/recording musician, school clinician/guest artist, guest judge, and band leader.
