Conn Selmer Educational Clinician

Dr. R. Tad Greig is the Director of Instrumental Activities and Professor of Music in the School of Music at Westminster College. Dr. Greig is the conductor and musical director of the North Pittsburgh Symphonic Band, Pittsburgh, PA. and is a judge for the American Prize Organization, a National competitive organization.

Dr. Greig is an active Guest Conductor, Clinician and Adjudicator throughout the Eastern United States, most recently having been the guest conductor for the Pennsylvania Music Educators All-State Wind Ensemble. His ensembles at Westminster have earned guest appearances at the PMEA State Conference on numerous occasions and received specific National acclaim. Dr. Greig has studied conducting with Dr. Leslie Hicken, Dr. Wayne Gorder, Allan McMurray, Craig Kirchhoff and Frank Ticheli.

As a Trombonist, Dr. Greig currently performs with the Youngstown Fine Arts Brass, regional orchestras and is a free-lance musician throughout the Youngstown and Pittsburgh areas.

Dr. Greig was nominated and accepted into the “Who’s Who in American Education”, Who’s Who Distinguished Professionals, was awarded the “Citation of Excellence” in Music Education presented by the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, and the Keystone Salute award given by the Pennsylvania Federation of Music Clubs, received the “Outstanding Bandmaster Award” from Phi Beta Mu, International Bandmasters Fraternity, and was nominated for the United States Professor of the Year award given by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
