Mark Lane

Mark Lane is Professor Emeritus and former Associate Director of Bands/Professor of Music Education at Central Washington University. Previously, he taught high school for 27 years in both Oregon and Washington. Mr. Lane served as the WMEA President from 2008-2010 and the NAfME NW Division President from 2013-2015. Mark was awarded Educator of the Year five times and received three Citations of Excellence from the National Band Directors Association. In 2001, Mark received the Sudler Order of Merit of the John Phillip Sousa Foundation. He was inducted into the WMEA Hall of Fame and was awarded the 2017 NAfME NW Division Distinguished Leadership Award. Mark’s groups performed twice in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade and twice at the MFA National Concert Band Festival.
