Louis Hanzlik

Louis Hanzlik is a member of the Grammy Award-winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and American Brass Quintet. He is also Associate Professor of Trumpet at the University of Connecticut and on the Trumpet and Chamber Music Faculties of the Juilliard School, and Aspen Music Festival & School where he also serves as Principal Trumpet of the Aspen Chamber Symphony. Hanzlik performs with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and is Principal Trumpet of the Riverside Symphony. Hanzlik was a founding member of the Extension Ensemble (winners of the 1999 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition), Manhattan Brass Quintet, and Atlantic Brass Quintet. He was co-principal trumpet with the IRIS Chamber Orchestra, and has performed with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and New York City’s Ballet, Opera, and Philharmonic Orchestras. Hanzlik is a graduate of the University of Iowa (B.M.), The Juilliard School (M.M.) and Teachers College, Columbia University (Ed.D.).
