Zach Buie

Dr. Zach Buie is a versatile performer based in Boise, Idaho where he is an Assistant Professor of Trumpet at Boise State University. He previously held teaching positions at Baylor University, the University of Utah, Western Wyoming Community College, and Marfa High School in Texas. He has performed with ensembles including the Utah Symphony, Macao Orchestra, Dallas Winds, Boise Philharmonic, Waco Symphony, and Brazos Valley Symphony among others. He is a member of the Palisade Trumpet Collective, a professional trumpet ensemble. From 2010 to 2014, Dr. Buie performed and toured with Soul Track Mind, a 7 piece original soul/funk outfit based in Austin. He was featured on three of their albums while being recognized by The New York Times Magazine and The Huffington Post as leaders in the resurgence of soul music. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Music from Baylor University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The University of Utah.
