Aaron Janik
Aaron Janik, a talented trumpeter hailing from Massachusetts, embarked on his musical journey at the young age of ten. His earliest exposure to music was through the guidance of the renowned New England trumpeter, Jack Martin, whose mentorship nurtured Aaron into a versatile musician proficient in various genres. Aaron's educational path led him through Oberlin College of Arts & Sciences and the Conservatory of Music, where he was under the tutelage of the esteemed Wendell Logan. He graduated with a degree in Jazz Trumpet Performance and a second degree in Biology (pre-medical).
Throughout his musical career, Aaron has had the privilege of studying with and being mentored by trumpet luminaries such as Sean Jones and the late Marcus Belgrave. He continued his academic journey by earning a Master's degree from USC Thornton School of Music, studying under the guidance of notable figures like Bob Mintzer, Peter Erskine, Alan Pasqua, Vince Mendoza, Mike Stever, and more.
Currently based in Los Angeles, California, Aaron dedicates himself to educating music students throughout the city. He frequently graces the stage and recording studios alongside artists from across the country. Aaron has toured with chart-topping performers including Patti Labelle, The Gorillaz, R&B sensation Faith Evans, Victor Wainwright, Dwele, Micki Miller, Kierra Sheard, and many others. Notably, he has collaborated with renowned artists such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, Chaka Khan, Nicole Scherzinger, and Tones and I, to name a few.
In addition to his performance career, Aaron is the co-founder of HornFX, an online community designed to unite wind instrumentalists and beyond, offering a platform to share insights and experiences in the realm of pedal effects. HornFX has rapidly expanded, boasting a substantial community of over 68,000 users from 122 countries. It aims to demonstrate to pedal manufacturers the significance of wind instrument electronics in today's electronic age.
In June 2021, Aaron released his debut record, "Spectrum." Alongside representing Denis Wick mouthpieces, he endorses Viga Music Tools microphones and an array of pedal brands including Strymon, Eventide, Morley, Source Audio, Zorg, and RJM.
