Adolfo Torres

Adolfo Torres is a Colombian drummer, composer, producer, and educator whose career bridges international study, touring experience, and original artistry. Born in Cali, Colombia, Adolfo’s first rhythms came from hitting pots and pans while singing along to The Beatles and Queen. Recognizing his passion early on, his parents enrolled him in drum lessons, setting him on a lifelong path behind the kit.At 18, Adolfo moved to New York City to attend Drummers Collective before earning an American Tour Scholarship to Berklee College of Music. Both experiences shaped his musical foundation and broadened his artistic vision. After graduating, he relocated to Austin, Texas, where working with artists such as JT Coldfire and Jeniffer B and the Groove Kings immersed him in the realities of touring life and the traditions of American roots music, including mastering the Texas shuffle.Returning to Colombia in 2013, Adolfo focused on building his own projects. As the leader, composer, producer, and drummer of M.I.J.O., he blends classic, modern, and progressive rock influences, performing in New York City and touring throughout Colombia. Alongside his band work, he maintains an active career as an independent educator and session drummer. Now based in Bogotá, Adolfo is developing new music with M.I.J.O., expanding his online lesson platform, launching a drum masterclass, and producing a podcast dedicated to the Latin American drumming community. He performs on a Ludwig Clear Vistalite kit featuring a 14x26 bass drum, 16x16 and 16x18 floor toms, a 10x14 rack tom, and a 6.5x14 Supraphonic LM402 snare.
