Adrienne Lape
As an educator, Dr. Adrienne Lape is committed to producing well-rounded musicians who become effective teachers and authentic artists. Her undergraduate students’ accomplishments include receiving scholarships with acceptance to graduate level collegiate music programs, employment in the Army and Air Force bands, and employment as K-12 music educators. Her high school students have placed in the Ohio All-State and national band ensembles and participate in local youth orchestras which include the Columbus Youth Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra, Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony, Mansfield Youth Symphony Orchestra, Youth Philharmonic of Central Ohio, and Chamber Music Connection. Her students have also received acceptance with scholarships to colleges of their choice as both music majors and minors. Dr. Lape is the Clarinet & Saxophone Instructor at Ohio Wesleyan University, the woodwind instructor at Worthington Kilbourne High School, and the clarinet instructor for Upper Arlington High School. As a performer, Dr. Lape is currently a member of the Westerville Symphony, Ohio Capital Winds, WindCentric Woodwind Quintet, and the Sax 5th Avenue Saxophone Quartet. She has performed with notable central Ohio ensembles, such as the Heisey Wind Ensemble, McConnell Arts Center Chamber Orchestra, New Albany Symphony Orchestra, Opera Columbus, and Opera Project Columbus. Dr. Lape earned a Doctor of Musical Arts, Master of Music, and Master of Arts from The Ohio State University, a Bachelor of Music at Tennessee Technological University, and an Associate of Arts degree from Lake Michigan College. She studied clarinet with James Pyne, Caroline Hartig, Anne Thurmond, & Scott Kurtzweil and saxophone with James Hill and Phillip Barham. She performs on Selmer Signature clarinets with Vandoren Mouthpieces and V12 Reeds.
