Alejandro Garcia
Alejandro García Sánchez was born in Murcia, Spain. He holds a Bachelor´s Degree in Trombone Performance from the Real Conservatorio de Música de Madrid, studying with Elies Hernandis. During these years, he also attended private lessons with Juan Carlos Matamoros and Jordi Navarro (National Orchestra of Spain).
He was awarded the Fundación Galindo First Prize Scholarship, in Spain, to study a Master´s Degree at the prestigious Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Jörgen van Rijen, Pierre Volders, Remko de Jager and Ben van Dijk.
Alejandro also attended several masterclasses with Rex Martin, George Curran, Ian Bousfield, Hakan Bjorkman, Mark Hampson, Mike Svoboda, Bart van Lier and Mark Templeton, among others.
Between 2015 and 2018 he was full member of the European Union Youth Orchestra. From 2016 to 2018, he also worked as Principal Trombone in the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento, in Italy.
At present, he collaborates actively with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (Netherlands), Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra (Netherlands), Aarhus Symfoniorkester (Denmark), Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa (Spain), Radio Filharmonisch Orkest (Netherlands) and Vlaanderen Symfoniorkester (Belgium).
Alejandro García has also performed on several occasions with the New Trombone Collective, including the recording of The Waves of Wollongong, by C. Lindberg, for his upcoming album.
He has played under the baton of conductors such as Bernard Haitink, Valery Gergiev, Daniele Gatti, Daniel Harding, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Vasily Petrenko and Antonio Pappano.
