Aleksander Kobus

Aleksander Kobus is the principal trumpet of the National Forum of Music – Wroclaw Philharmonics and teaches at Karol Lipinski’s Academy of Music in Wroclaw, Poland. He also plays with "Capitol" Music Theatre in Wrocław. He participated in many Polish and international music competitions winning awards at competitions in Oława, Mielec, Szczecinek, Wrocław, Kalisz, Katowice, Brno (Czech Republic), Sarostapak (Hungary), and Chieri (Italy), Jeju (Korea). In 2014/2015 he become laureate of the most important prestigious scholarship award in Poland – “Młoda Polska”. Kobus was named the First Prize Winner of the 2021 Ellsworth Smith Competition held in Dublin, Ireland. In 2016 as a soloist Aleksander Kobus recorded Krzysztof Penderecki’s Trumpet Concerto (Concerto per Tromba 2013). This recording was made with maestro Penderecki conducting the Polish Symphony Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus. The album was nominated for the most prestigious classical music award in Poland “Fryderyki” 2018.
