Alex ''Gator'' Petropulos

We’re proud to welcome Alex “Gator” Petropulos to the Ludwig family.A lifelong drummer from Hollis, New Hampshire, Alex began studying at age five and has built a career grounded in groove, feel, and musical versatility. Over the past two decades, he’s shared the stage with artists including Cory Wong, Billy Strings, Charlie Hunter, Tomo Fujita, and Marcus King, earning a reputation for pocket, power, and range.For the past ten years, Alex has been the full-time drummer for Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, performing more than 100 shows annually on stages like Madison Square Garden, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and Bonnaroo. He has co-written and recorded five albums with the band, most recently Feed the Fire.Beyond the jam scene, Alex leads his jazz-fusion quartet, The Infinity Tribe, continuing to explore new textures and ideas behind the kit. His curiosity, consistency, and deep feel make him a natural fit behind Ludwig drums.
