Portrait of Branden Steineckert

Branden Steineckert

A Utah native, Branden first made his mark as a founding member of The Used, contributing to both the band's self-titled debut and In Love & Death, albums that would go on to reach millions of listeners around the world.

After an unfortunate parting from the band in 2006, encouragement from friends and mentors, including Max Weinberg, helped reignite his passion for music. Just three months later, he received a life-changing call from Tim Armstrong and joined Rancid, where he has remained a driving force behind the kit for nearly two decades.

Beyond his work with Rancid, Branden has built a career as a touring and recording drummer, songwriter, producer, and collaborator across countless projects and genres. He also proudly represents his home state, even writing the first Major League Soccer anthem for Utah's Real Salt Lake.

“My very first drum kit was an old Ludwig Vistalite. I worked so hard and saved up to get those drums. I started playing at 16 after seeing a photo of my late father behind his Ludwig kit when he was a teenager. It is a tremendous honor to be a part of a legacy company like Ludwig. An honor that I don’t take lightly. I’m truly grateful.”
