An accomplished composer, esteemed saxophonist, and vocalist, Camille Thurman is quickly becoming one of the leading standard bearers of Jazz, making a considerable and dynamic contribution to its legacy while paying tribute to its heroes. She is known for her distinct musical approach to classic and original repertoire that highlights her chops as both a powerhouse saxophonist and vocalist. Camille has four full-length recordings as a leader to her credit. She was the first woman in 30 years to tour, record, and perform full-time internationally with the world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (2018-2020 seasons). A respected bandleader, she has headlined numerous notable concert venues and jazz festivals around the world including the Kennedy Center, The Appel Room and Alice Tully Hall. She is also the creator and founder of “The Haven Hang: Young Lioness Musician Q&A/ Virtual Mentorship Series”, a support initiative for young women pursuing careers in music.
