Carla Azar

Carla Azar is a Los Angeles–based drummer best known for her work with Autolux, where her inventive, groove-driven playing is central to the band’s sound. Classically trained before moving to drum set, Carla developed a distinctive voice influenced by hip-hop, electronic textures, classic rock, and soul, creating rhythms that are both powerful and unpredictable.Beyond Autolux, she has built an extensive studio and touring career, recording with artists including PJ Harvey and John Parish, Jack White, The Who, and Desert Sessions. She has also collaborated with T Bone Burnett and performed alongside Jim Keltner, bringing her singular feel and musical depth to projects across rock, film, and experimental music.
