Dale Underwood
Dale W. Underwood, a distinguished saxophonist, holds the position of Saxophone Professor at the FROST SCHOOL OF MUSIC and leads the FROST Saxophone Ensemble. His illustrious career includes a 30-year tenure as principal saxophonist and soloist with the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C. Throughout his journey, he performed for various U.S. presidents and in every U.S. state and 20 foreign countries. Dale's virtuosity earned him the title "The Heifetz of the Alto Saxophone" by the Washington Post. With multiple appearances at Carnegie Hall, Disney Hall, and the Kennedy Center, he boasts a prolific discography of classical and contemporary works. His dedication to saxophone education led him to organize the Navy Band's International Saxophone Symposium for 20 years.
