King Artist
Dave Keech
Dave Keech began playing trombone at 12, inspired by his grandfather, also a trombonist. Growing up in Kettering, home of the world champion GUS Brass Band, he learned under GUS principal trombonist Maxwell Thornton, grounding his sound in the craft and discipline of British brass. His latest release, Tokyo, is a collection of genre-blurring original compositions that fuse contemporary jazz, funk, and soul, recorded with some of the UK’s most progressive jazz artists. The five-track EP captures Keech’s distinctive voice; technically adept yet soulful, charting a journey from brass band roots to the forefront of contemporary British music.Image Credit: Tatiana Gorilovsky.
