Donald Sinta
Donald Sinta, a distinguished musician, and educator, previously taught at the Hartt School of Music and Ithaca College. Renowned across the US and Canada, he shines as a soloist and clinician. His seminal recording "American Music for the Saxophone" enjoys international acclaim. Sinta is a trailblazer, premiering over 40 pieces by American composers and serving as the inaugural chair of the World Saxophone Congress in 1969. He directs Interlochen's All-State Program and the Michigan Youth Ensembles Program. Notably, he held an Arthur Thurnau Professorship for his exceptional undergraduate instruction. Sinta's artistry graces notable recordings, including William Walton's "Façade" and George Crumb's "Quest."
