Gerald Rolland

Gérald Rolland, originally from the Jura (France), he started the trumpet at the age of seven. At 14, he obtained a gold medal at the ENM of Dole and returned the same year to the CNSM of Lyon. In 1991, he won 1st Prize (under 18) at the Maurice André Competition and in 1992, and the second European Trumpet Prize (Lyon). He obtained his National Diploma of Superior Musical Studies (1st Prize) at the age of 19, in 1994, unanimously at the CNSM in Lyon. Rolland has been principal trumpet and principal cornet of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra since 1995. Director and member of the Grand Ensemble of Brass and Percussion: "Monaco Brass", which he created in 2010. He regularly gives master classes in France and abroad and is invited to numerous juries. He is also often solicited as a solo trumpet in large orchestral ensembles. He is also responsible for collection at IMD Editions Paris.
