Kimberly McCann
Kimberly McCann, horn, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Horn Performance from Wheaton College Conservatory of Music, and a Master’s Degree in Horn Performance from Northwestern University, where she studied with Dale Clevenger.
Kim is the horn instructor at Capital University’s Conservatory of Music, Cedarville University, and Ohio Wesleyan University. Kim is an associate musician with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and is principal horn in the Newark Granville Symphony and the Westerville Symphony. She also plays in the pit orchestra for many traveling Broadway productions, as well as other touring artists like Frank Sinatra Jr., Andrea Bocelli, Chris Botti, and Johnny Mathis.
In addition, Kim is an experienced chamber musician. Currently, she is a member of the Capital Faculty Brass Quintet, the QuintEssential Winds, and St. Joseph’s Cathedral Brass.
In high demand as a horn teacher, Kim prioritizes working with young musicians. From master classes, to leading youth symphony sectionals, she specializes in teaching efficient sound production techniques and diagnosing embouchure irregularities.
Kim resides in Ostrander, OH with her husband, Matthew, and their 3 Boston Terriers.
